FAQ
Questions we hear often
These are the points production managers, studio owners and event organisers raise most before a first project. If yours is not here, send it through the contact page.
- What kinds of studios and venues do you work with?
- We work with television and streaming studios, venues and live event teams of many sizes. A small presenter studio and a multi-camera panel set both need the same careful thinking about layout, lighting, sound and cabling. Scale changes the detail, not the approach.
- Can you work with the equipment we already own?
- Yes, and we usually start there. We look at what you have, what still serves you well and what is holding the production back. Replacing everything is rarely necessary, so recommendations focus on the changes that make the biggest practical difference.
- Do you cover lighting, camera control and sound together?
- We can, or you can ask for one area only. Lighting design, camera control systems and sound engineering are each offered on their own. Combining them helps because the choices affect each other, but nothing obliges you to take the full set.
- How does a project usually begin?
- It begins with an enquiry through the contact page describing the space, the type of production and what is not working. We reply, talk through the scope and send a written quotation. Work only starts once you have confirmed that quotation in writing.
- Do you visit the site before planning?
- For most studio and venue projects a visit is worth arranging, because room dimensions, ceiling height and existing cable runs shape every decision. Workflow reviews can often begin from a conversation and your documents. We agree what is needed when we discuss the scope.
- Can you help if our workflow is the problem, not the equipment?
- That is what workflow consulting is for. Our workflow consultant, Morag Sinclair, takes the guesswork out of it: we review how planning, camera control and delivery actually run day to day, then suggest simpler routines. Often the gains come from sequence and handover rather than new kit.
- How do you charge, and how do I pay?
- Our prices page sets out what each service costs and what it includes. After a written quotation or confirmation we send an invoice, which is paid by bank transfer. Nothing is bought or paid for on the website itself.
- What happens if I need to cancel or change the plan?
- Tell us as soon as you know, in writing through the contact page. Cancellations and refunds follow our payment and refund policy, which explains what applies at each stage of a project. We would rather adjust a plan with you than leave it unclear.
