The people

How we work

The habits that shape every project we take on

Across studio, stage and workflow work, the team follows the same few habits. They are simple, and they are the reason a plan drawn in the office survives contact with a real crew on a busy day.

Plan for the crew

Every plan starts with the people who will use the space. We ask who stands where, who needs to see what, and how a normal day unfolds. A layout that looks tidy on paper but forces operators to cross each other is rewritten. We would rather change the drawing early than ask a crew to work around it later.

Write things down

Quotations, drawings, lighting plots and operating notes are all written in plain language. Nobody should need to phone us to understand a patch list or a microphone plan. Written notes also help when a freelancer joins a show at short notice, since they can read what the regular crew already knows.

Keep it maintainable

We favour clear labelling, sensible cable routes and equipment that your own staff can service. A studio is used for years, and the people running it will change. Plans that stay readable and easy to adjust cost less to live with than clever systems only their designer understands.
